Ron Aiello Ron Aiello is the president of the US War Dogs Association Inc., a non -profit organization made up of former and current Military Dog handlers and supporting members across the USA . As president of US War Dogs Association I am responsible for daily operations: care packages being sent over to the Military Working Dog Teams serving in the Middle East, trying to establish a commemorative War Dog Stamp to honor Military Dogs, and responding to requests for information on War Dogs etc. I enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1964. In 1965 I volunteered for dog training school to become a Military Dog Handler while I was stationed at Camp LeJune, NC. In 1966 I was deployed to Vietnam with my dog Stormy. We were part of the 1st. Marine Scout Dog Platoon, the first to be deployed to Vietnam. Knowing that when I graduated from Dog Training school, I would be sent to Vietnam with my dog Stormy, I couldn't think of a better way - than by going to Vietnam with a dog by my side. It was a good choice. U.S. War Dogs Association Website |
