In Search of the Last Wild Tigers

Travel along as Ruth Padel, international poet and great, great, granddaughter of Charles Darwin, relates her story of a two year adventure traveling around the globe to learn all she could about tigers, their conservation and see the magnificent creatures in the wild. In the book, Tigers in Red Weather the question is posed, Can wild tigers be saved, or is this their last moment before extinction. Ruth Padel Part One Ruth tells Susan why she decided to make her journey to see the endangered tigers, even though she wasn't a scientist and had never done anything quite like this before. She also explains the title of her book (Tigers in Red Weather), and tells Susan what she encountered while seeking tigers in India.

She talks about some of the things that are threatening the big cats, such as poaching and logging, and why there is a benefit in protecting the species.
